Job Description Liberty Hardware has an exciting opportunity for
a Senior Director of Global Sourcing and Supplier Development who
will provide strategic, organizational, and operational leadership
for Liberty---s Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Quality and Supply
Planning functions. Responsibilities include the development and
implementation of long-term sourcing and supply chain strategies to
drive high levels of performance in the areas of total value
delivery, quality/AQP, continuous improvement as well as customer
focused supply and service level performance. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing --- Develop and execute global sourcing
strategies on direct and indirect commodities for the purpose of
building a strong supplier network to support our long-term growth
strategy and in alignment with critical business initiatives.
Supplier Development --- Oversees critical supplier development
activities to drive innovation and quality performance as well as
improve productivity and reduce costs in a global sourcing /
contract manufacturing business model. Develop, lead, and
facilitate ongoing process improvement strategies; streamline
sourcing / supplier practices and communication, including the
identification and assessment of new technologies, to ensure
alignment with organizational business strategies and corporate
performance objectives. Ownership of individual and team talent
development including goal / objective setting, performance
management, real-time coaching / mentoring, long-term development,
and organizational succession planning. Supply Base Management ---
Negotiate supplier contracts / agreements, provide cross functional
leadership and point of escalation for resolving supplier issues
related to quality and OTIF service level performance. Provides
cross functional leadership for product supply including linkage to
the demand planning / S&OP process as well as supplier
performance related to service level, capacity and working capital
management. Provides cross functional participation and support for
new business / category activities and projects in support of the
company---s growth strategy; identification and implementation of
suppliers to support innovation / technology, supplier planning /
project management support for key projects, and AQP (Advanced
Quality Planning) activities. Continue to advance the utilization
of supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement
activities throughout the sourcing network including the deployment
of supplier led CI / VAVE activities. Develop and deploy refined
risk management tools and incorporate into long term sourcing
strategies. Provide input to and insure internal and supply chain
compliance with established governance and code of conduct
requirements. Contribute as a thought leader and influencer towards
the development and execution of our supply chain organizational
and enterprise-wide strategies. Demonstrate a Continuous
Improvement mindset --- through participation in events and
activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste
reduction for the business. Lead and support CI best practice
sharing across the enterprise. Recruits, coaches, and mentors team
members to accelerate development and ensure quality results and
efficient delivery. Ensures team members receive coveted and vital
experiences and training in accordance with their development
objectives. Education/Experience: Bachelor---s degree in Supply
Chain Management, Finance or related field; MBA Preferred. Minimum
of 15 years--- experience in global sourcing and supply chain
management in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing
environment. Experience must include strategic sourcing as well as
supplier identification, assessment, certification, and
development. Demonstrated history of delivering year over year
total value / productivity, building partnerships with suppliers
globally, and productivity improvement through Lean practice
implementation in best-cost countries. Strong strategic thought
leadership, influencing and communication skills. Continuous
improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving
skills particularly in fast paced environments. Proven experience
with Lean processes, Six Sigma certification a plus. Experience in
contract negotiations and supplier development / performance
management. Direct knowledge of integrated ERP systems, lean
manufacturing concepts and world-class supply chain practices and
metrics. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ability
to prioritize to focus on high-impact initiatives. Ability to use
data to identify and analyze low-cost country capability, vendor
identification, evaluation, certification and improvement in
service, cost, reliability and quality. Functional expertise in
global governance management and continuity of supply and risk
management skills used to ensure the integrity and continuity of
supply in a global supply chain. Strong negotiation skills. Ability
to work collaboratively across multiple functions. Demonstrated
ability in total cost modeling and financial analysis. Supply base
optimization and factory floor expertise in manufacturing process
improvement. Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes
including die-casting, extrusion, injection molding,
electro-plating, anodizing, coatings application, metal stamping
and fabrication. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to travel globally as
