HBCU Pride & Joy Children's Apparel is looking for a part-time Office Assistant to join our team and make a positive contribution in a fast-growing organization. The Office Assistant will implement and organize administrative duties, office procedures, and shipping processes. Your role will be to maintain an efficient and orderly work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety. -Office assistant responsibilities include scheduling meetings and appointments, creating and processing purchase orders for supplies and inventory, greeting visitors, scheduling and processing shipments, and providing general administrative support. - -A successful Office Assistant should also have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and be able to accurately handle a wide variety of administrative duties simultaneously. The Office Assistant should also be able and willing to learn new software and systems quickly. -Ultimately, the Office Assistant should be able to ensure the smooth running of the office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation. -Position located in Kernersville, NC.Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-4:30pm. - -Responsibilities -Serve as the point person for office duties including:MaintenanceMailingSuppliesEquipmentErrandsLogistics and shippingSchedule meetings and appointmentsMaintain the office condition and arrange necessary repairsProcess purchase orders and ensure effective record-keeping of supplies and inventoryImplement office operations and proceduresAssist with inventory management and product preparation for shipment as necessaryAddress employee queries regarding office management issues (e.g. office supplies, clock-in/out procedures)Plan in-house or off-site activities and logisticsAssist with other office and company duties as needed -Requirements -Experience as an Office Assistant, Coordinator, or AdministratorExperience working in a growing small business or start-upExperience with and/or familiarity with diverse customer segments, specifically the HBCU marketKnowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems, and proceduresProficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. computers and printers)Familiarity with software commonly used in the apparel manufacturing and retail industriesExcellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsImpeccable written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environmentA creative mind with an ability to suggest improvementsA fire in the belly drive and ability and innate desire to figure things out independentlyAbility to manage multiple projects at once, seamlessly transitioning between themAssociate degree preferred; significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree -To apply, please upload your resume and cover letter.
