Description This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience
working with 75 municipalities and counties in the Piedmont Triad
region of North Carolina. You will gain experience in preparing
meeting materials and assisting with organization wide events. A
priority for the Administrative Intern position is to assist with
developing captivating social media content for our various
programs. A key component of this role will be to gain an
understanding of brand-appropriate language and ability to follow
brand guidelines.
The ideal candidate for the Administrative Intern is passionate
about communicating the complex ideas of public administration
through both internal and external channels of communication. This
is accomplished by coordinating special events, social media
content, job postings, and a variety of organizational tasks. A
project assignment will be to develop custom themed wellness
challenges for employees.
A typical assignment would be to create a social media schedule to
promote a new program initiative and develop on-brand and visually
appealing content. Other assignments would include creating
creative HR content for LinkedIn based on new job postings and
agency news, monitoring employee reviews on sites like Glassdoor or
Indeed and crafting professional responses. You will switch gears
to prepare materials for upcoming board meetings and occasionally
fill in as a front desk receptionist. On event days, you will
manage the caterer and have responsibility for the meeting space.
While using your superb administrative and organizational skills,
you will maintain accurate safety accountability lists and assign
online safety trainings to new hires and staff. Job posting will
remain open until filled. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Interested
candidates for the Administrative Intern position should be
pursuing higher educational attainment in public administration,
communications, or a related field and have passion for
communicating and engaging a variety of audiences. Knowledge of
modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and various
computer products, including Microsoft programs and design
programs, will be essential in this role. Event planning experience
will be beneficial. Hours worked are flexible and average 20 hours
per week but not to exceed 1,000 hours annually.
If you are selected to fill the role of Administrative Intern, you
will need to present a valid North Carolina Driver's License, pass
the pre-employment drug screen and background screening process.
Duration of internship is flexible but anticipated as 12 months
from June 2022 through May 2023.

Salary is $17.00 per hour. Generally 20 hours per week and not to
