Job Description:
Position Summary The Office of Undergraduate Education seeks a
passionate, committed professional to lead one of the
Thrive@Carolina Campus Hubs, comprised of individuals dedicated to
providing student-centered, holistic and seamlessly delivered
support to students from acceptance through graduation. Reporting
to a Senior Assistant Dean, the Hub Lead/Director is a consummate
professional who provides leadership and operational oversight for
one of the hub units on campus. Hub staff are expected to bring
positive energy and a collaborative mindset to their everyday work,
partnering with campus staff, faculty and one another to ensure all
students thrive. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain
collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. The
incumbent will have a strong commitment to the Liberal Arts,
demonstrated experience utilizing an intersectional framework to
support students holistically, and capable of leading a team of
engaged employees to affect positive change through innovative
systems. This is a 12-month, full-time, permanent, EHRA Non-Faculty
position which will require some evening hours and may have
non-standard work hours. Required Qualifications, Competencies, And
Experience Appreciation and understanding of a liberal arts
education. Deep familiarity with the intersectional framework and
best practices required to achieve student success including
academic, wellness, engagement and financial components. Ability to
create and assess student learning outcomes and translate them into
educational programs. Experience or training in social justice,
diversity and/or cultural competence with a strong interest in
continued professional development in these areas. Successful
supervisory/management experience or the ability to lead groups.
Highly ethical with excellent judgement and sound decision-making
skills. Ability to work through complex, confidential issues and
provide solutions. Strong oral and written communication skills;
experience teaching, training or facilitating. Ability to develop
and deliver effective presentations to groups including reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Excellent
organizational skills. Ability to coordinate work with attention to
detail while meeting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to cultivate
relationships and working collaboratively with staff and
colleagues. Flexibility to evolve with a dynamic environment and
ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and positive
attitude during lengthy periods of high volume, intensive work.
Ability to utilize and/or learn software applications, learning
platforms, or technology-based delivery systems. Minimum SACS
qualifications to be appointed as fixed-term faculty. Preferred
Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience Strong interest in
promoting innovative systems and building a culture of integrated,
holistic support for students. Experience overseeing the hiring,
development, and performance management of professional staff.
Experience with budget management, and an understanding of how to
use limited financial resources. Familiarity with Universal Design
principles. Knowledge of workforce education trends, career options
and career and educational planning assessments. Experience, or
interest in, contributing to educational research and professional
literatures. Involvement in NACADA , NACE , NASPA , ACPA , NODA or
other professional organizations supporting student success.
Familiarity with social media and other digital technology and
their application in higher education settings. Five (5) years of
professional experience within higher education
