Job Description:
Job Title: Truss Designer Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled
and experienced Truss Designer to join our team. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for designing and creating structural
truss systems used in alpine settings, including ski resorts,
mountain lodges, and other elevated or outdoor structures. This
role requires a strong understanding of structural engineering
principles, Mitek design software, and industry standards, as well
as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects,
and construction teams. Key Responsibilities: Truss Design: Develop
detailed designs for residential and commercial roof and floor
trusses. CAD and Software Use: Utilize Mitek design software.
Structural Analysis: Perform structural calculations and
assessments to ensure that trusses meet safety, durability, and
performance standards. Collaboration: Work closely with architects,
engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs align with
overall project goals and are feasible to implement. Code
Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local building codes,
industry standards, and regulations. Project Management Support:
Assist with the preparation of project timelines, cost estimates,
and material specifications, and monitor progress to ensure timely
delivery of truss systems. Site Visits: Conduct site assessments as
needed to verify the feasibility of truss designs and to ensure the
correct installation of trusses. Innovation: Stay up-to-date with
emerging design trends, new materials, and innovative construction
techniques that can improve performance. Qualifications: Proven
experience in truss design. Proficiency in Alpine or Mitek design
software. Strong understanding of structural analysis, material
properties, and load calculations. Familiarity with the specific
building codes and regulations governing alpine or mountain
construction. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to
detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a
collaborative team. Strong communication skills to effectively
liaise with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects,
