Job Description: The Senior Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) reports to the director of EHS and leads all aspects of EHS across multiple manufacturing and R&D facilities of a fast paced, global company. Leadership, a strong health and safety background, and effective communication skills are keys to success in this position. The EHS manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations while working to continuously and proactively advance EHS programs and initiatives. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies and programs in partnership with management to support Reynold---s goal of continual improvement in safety and environmental performance. Supervise team of site EHS managers and provide effective leadership and engagement that supports their successful performance and professional development. Stay abreast of applicable federal, state and local EHS regulations and provide guidance to the organization on compliance requirements. Develop and maintain internal EHS standards that assure compliance with regulatory, corporate and management system requirements. Lead programs to identify safety risks and participate in development of mitigation strategies that drive injury and illness prevention. Provide strategic and practical support for the EHS component of site integrated work systems. Lead and provide technical support to site EHS leaders on compliance assurance matters including timely completion of regulatory submittals and reports. Ensure changes to operations, equipment or processes are reviewed against regulatory and internal EHS standards requirements. Ensure complete and thorough accident investigations to identify root cause and generate recommendations to reduce or eliminate hazards. Maintain accurate health and safety metrics data for internal and external reporting purposes. Prepare and deliver routine status reports to company and site leadership. Direct the internal EHS audit inspection program including routine self-assessment against regulatory requirements and corporate standards. Liaison between site EHS leaders and internal environmental technical staff on permits and regulatory requirements and issues. Oversee health and safety training program design and implementation for the organization to ensure competencies for regulatory and corporate requirements are achieved. Perform special assignments within the company to develop and implement solutions to specific EHS needs. Serves as the organizational liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies as it pertains to health and safety matters. Maintain strong personal presence in manufacturing facilities and build productive relationships necessary to influence change. Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in engineering, relevant sciences or specific environmental, health and safety discipline. 6 years of relevant environmental, health and safety experience with at least 3 years directly supporting manufacturing. Computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, SAP and ability to learn to use proprietary databases and other computer-based applications. Advanced Excel skills preferred. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and self-motivated to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, and decision-making skills. Comfortable and competent at interfacing with governmental agencies. Able to read and grasp environmental regulations, technical documents and mathematical calculations. Able to prepare comprehensive strategy and status reports for use by various stakeholders.
