Strategic leader of the Center for the Study of Capitalism; responsible for all Center activities and initiatives. Job Description Essential Functions: Articulates the vision, mission, and purpose of the Center and develops annual and five-year plans. Leads the examination of issues at the intersection of Capitalism, free markets, and stewardship of the profession of business. Collaborates with faculty and staff colleagues to integrate these ideas through research and programming across School of Business degree programs, including the award winning, "Why Business" course (recognized by the Aspen Institute as an "Idea Worth Teaching" in 2017 for its innovative contributions to business education). Cultivates the Center's national reputation. Collaborates with University Development to raise funds for the Center and galvanizes Center support within a national donor base. Provides leadership of the Center's scholarly, academic, administrative, and community-building activities. Manages integration of the Center's research and curricular activities into the School of Business' educational framework. Leads a team that may include administrative staff, faculty affiliates, Executives in Residence, and postdoctoral researchers. Holds chief responsibility for the Center budget and staff. Serves as the primary representative of the Center to the School of Business, other units of Wake Forest University, and members of the business community. Minimum Qualifications: Prefer an advanced degree (master's degree or higher) in a relevant field and significant, relevant experience in a leadership role within an educational institution, other thought leadership organization, or a business. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the Center and manage its internal team. Strong track record of public discourse and thought leadership in issues related to Capitalism, free markets, and the discernment of business as a profession. An experienced authority in free market systems who has an understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of economics and a market economy and whose expertise is often sought. An accomplished storyteller with the ability to inspire external stakeholders to invest in the Center. Commitment to the Center's mission and the School of Business' educational framework.
