Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.?? The Role:The head of Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Compliance is accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the enterprise-wide compliance program designed to proactively and systematically identify, assess, measure, monitor, control and report on significant regulatory compliance risks to Wells Fargo.? WIM is inclusive of Wells Fargo Advisors, Private Wealth Management, Wealth Client Solutions, Wells Fargo Asset Management, Wells Fargo Investment Institute and WIM Operations.? The head of WIM Compliance will manage a team that oversees highly complex businesses across several legal entities, multiple product lines and distribution channels. ??He or she will assume primary responsibility for ensuring activities are in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, leading a team of approximately 550 compliance professionals, and be responsible for administering a compliance program that is reasonably designed to achieve compliance with applicable regulatory standards.? The head of WIM Compliance will be expected to apply proper attention and engagement to compliance matters, staffing and execution of the compliance program, and oversees the escalation and resolution of any compliance risk management issue. ?As part of the Wells Fargo Compliance team within Corporate Risk, the head of WIM Compliance has a direct reporting line to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer/head of Advisory Compliance.?????Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for establishing and overseeing execution of the enterprise-wide compliance program across all functional areas and platforms for the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) business group.
• Direct and oversee key enterprise compliance program elements with respect to WIM business activities, including compliance risk assessments, initiative management, establishment and implementation of policies and standards, delivery of compliance training and awareness, evaluation of third party compliance risk, compliance issue management, metrics and reporting; provide input and contribute to the Annual Compliance Plan.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to the WIM leadership and its lines of business and their embedded controls staff regarding applicable laws, rules, regulations, enterprise standards and compliance-related best practices.
• Oversee and credibly challenge the reporting, escalation and timely remediation of compliance-related issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters.
• Provide reporting on the state of compliance in the WIM business group to Wells Fargo Compliance leadership, board level committees and appropriate executive management.
• Oversee, credibly challenge and assess the business group environment with respect to managing and mitigating compliance risk and establish processes to ensure effective and timely implementation of regulatory change requirements applicable to the group.
• Direct the implementation of effective compliance strategies to assess key risks and anticipate regulatory issues; and identify opportunities to simplify and drive consistency of solutions to strengthen compliance risk management.
• Support effective coordination of compliance-related regulatory examinations in WIM businesses, functions, and build and maintain effective relationships with all associated regulators.
• Lead and actively participate as a key member of the Wells Fargo Compliance leadership team and other risk management and compliance committees, such as the Compliance Risk Committee (CRC), and participate as a compliance representative on the WIM Risk and Control Committee.
• Foster an environment that ensures strong communication and cooperation across the three lines of defense, including business line leadership, Legal, Audit, Compliance and other corporate stakeholders to facilitate transparency, balance and credible challenge.
• Sustain a strong risk culture that identifies and provides oversight and escalation of existing and emerging compliance issues across business groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions; and ensure that escalated compliance issues receive immediate senior management attention.
• Create a culture of excellence by proactively attracting, retaining and developing a team of talented and diverse compliance professionals to support the execution of the Enterprise Compliance Program across the WIM businesses and activities.     Required Qualifications
    
    • 12+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 12+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 6+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
    • 10+ years of management experience

        • Extensive experience designing and executing enterprise compliance programs, including regulatory change management, risk identification and assessment processes, compliance issue management, new product/business review, complaint handling, compliance monitoring and reporting, and compliance training
        • Expert-level knowledge of relevant bank and securities laws and regulations focused on FINRA and SEC rules, 12CFR9, key Consumer Banking regulations and associated compliance programs
        • Significant professional experience in the high net worth and ultra high net worth segment with emphasis on brokerage, fiduciary, investment management and banking activities
        • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving governance and regulatory environments as well as industry and compliance risk-related best practices
        • Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives
        • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results
        • Effective leadership ability to drive successful execution of strategic plans; ability to plan, prioritize and set goals. Must possess a sense of urgency about exceeding the objectives of the role
        • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong credible relationships with key stakeholder groups including executive management, regulators, front line businesses, and enterprise functions
