of Davidson County.This 12-bed facilityis located200 Hospice Way
Lexington, NC27292and offers 24-hour pain management and
specialized medical carein a home-like, caring
environment.HenryEtta and Bruce Hinkle were supporters of Hospice
of Davidson County for manyyears. Before her death in 2005, Henry
Etta Hinkle served as Honorary Chair ofthe Capital Campaign to
build the inpatient facility. The Hinkle family haslong supported
aging adults in our community, and we are grateful to have
theirsupport of our agency and services.Hourly Range$35/hr -
$37/hrSalary Range $65,520 - $69,264Weekend Night Shift Diff. $4 +
$4 added to hourly base rate.Agency Placement Fee 25%Hinkle House -
RegisteredNurse - HospicePrimary RegisteredNurse is responsible for
providing skilled nursing care to hospice patients.Supervision:
Director of Inpatient ServicesJob 2 Registered Nurse and 2 Nursing
Assistants per shift.12 bed unitUnderstand and commit to the
Hospice philosophy of care,including the importance of treating the
patient as awhole being, physically, psychosocially, and
spiritually.Work collaboratively with the hospice
interdisciplinaryteam to develop an individualized plan of care for
each patient/family, asassigned by the Director of Inpatient
Services.Evaluate the patient/family needs, symptoms, and
totalcondition in order to report accurately to the physicians
and/or Director ofInpatient Services in order that appropriate
decisions may be made regardingthe patient/family s care.Contact
the patient s primary care physician and/orHospice Medical Director
as needed regarding physician s orders for the care plan; he/she is
alsoresponsible for continuedcommunication with physicians and
other health care personnel concerningchanges in
medicaltreatmentand all other aspects of patient care.Initiate
nursing procedures appropriate for the patient scare and
safety.Teach and counsel the patient/family about the
diseaseprocess, medication management, andprovision of care for the
patient.Provide hands-on nursing care to the patient andemotional
support to the family as needed.Maintain accurate records of
Hospice patient/family careservices per Hospice of DavidsonCounty
policy.Participate inhospice staff meetings, interdisciplinary team
conferences, staff developmentevents, and educational
programs.Relate professionally and courteously with
patients,families, members of the Hospice ofDavidson County staff
and the medical community.Provide on-call nursing services as
assigned and committo one 6-hour shift per month as shifts are
available.Assist with admissions as assigned.Participate in the
Quality Assessment/PerformanceImprovement process and the ACHC
accreditationprocess.Physical physical demands described here are

Preferred.Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care
PreferredMinimum of two years nursing experience.PreferredMaintain
current unrestricted North Carolina driver slicense and maintain
minimum automobile liability insurance for the duration
ofemployment.Active patient experience within the past two
years;bedside nursing outside of the hospitalsetting is
desirable.Ability to work as a hospice team member and
functionefficiently in a flexible work environment.Must be
physically capable of providing patient care andvarious
institutional settings to include supporting, moving,lifting adult
