Job Description:

RN Supervisor, Surgery Department in Waterloo, IA, oversees daily unit operations, staffing, and employee relations to ensure quality and cost-effective patient care. Collaborates with leadership to organize and evaluate education programs, enhancing staff skills and competencies in perioperative services. Handles scheduling, reassignments, and staffing levels, ensuring proper patient care and team coordination. Coordinates orientation, training, and ongoing education for new and existing staff, including specialized skills and competencies. Addresses complex situations like patient complaints and crises, providing guidance and immediate feedback to staff. Qualifications include a BSN or enrollment in an RN to BSN program, with 3+ years OR experience and preferred supervisory or teaching background. Current Iowa RN license, certification in Operating Room Nursing within one year, and preferred advanced certifications are required.
