Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience; First-time travelers accepted License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - IV Start and Telemetry experience Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a cancellation. Weekend position required with a schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Patient ratios on the unit are 1:5-6. Unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks. 36 or 48 hours can be offered. The average length of stay in the unit is 1.8-2.4 days. There is rapid patient turnover daily. An ADT nurse is available Monday-Friday during peak patient transition times. Any absences must be made up at the end of the contract. Cancellation of weekend shifts will require the nurse to make up another weekend shift. The unit cannot promise a block schedule at any time. They will do their best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee them. EKG testing must be passed prior to starting for this specialty. Patient diagnoses include: Pre/Post cardiac procedures, management of arrhythmias, and cardiac drips. The unit houses a cardiac telemetry environment with pre and post procedural patients. Floating is required as needed to similar units. Candidates must be comfortable with high patient acuity. Special equipment includes in-room monitoring and EKG capabilities. Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes various specialties. Management of cardiac drips without titration is required. Travel pairs are allowed but must work on different units.
