Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/3/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU or PCU experience, preferred in CVICU License: Valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with heavy cardiac cases, including CHF, cardiomyopathy, tamponade, shock, STEMI/NSTEMI, post-cath, dysrhythmias, and arrhythmias. Required skills in general nursing and ICU care. Experience with Swan-Ganz and Impella devices. Wound care and dressing change experience is essential. Ability to perform defibrillation, EKG interpretation, post-arrest care, and cardioversions. Experience in managing and pulling sheaths, and use of BIPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Proficiency with chest tubes, tracheostomies, arterial lines, and various drips including pressors and sedation. Experience with vented patients is necessary. Highly preferred to have experience with LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients. Description: This position is for a newly opening unit. The unit will initially operate as a high-acuity PCU and transition to an ICU by the end of 2026. Patient ratios will start at 1:3-4 and will transition to 1:2-3 in the ICU. The types of patients will include those requiring care for post-operative cardiac procedures. There will be heavy cardiac cases, including heart transplants, post-vascular surgeries, and various cardiology diagnoses. Support within the department will include a CNA, charge nurse, resource nurse, and 24/7 coverage by respiratory therapists and hospitalists. Technological equipment will include EMR and IV pumps. Floating may occur within the scope of practice to other units as needed. The schedule will include self-scheduling with weekend rotations and holiday expectations. Scrub color is royal blue.
