This healthcare job offers a supportive, patient-centered environment in a city known for its vibrant arts scene, historic charm, and welcoming community—making Winston Salem a prime location for North Carolina nursing jobs./n /n/nRegistered Nurse Job Details/n /n - Location: Winston Salem, NC 27157/n - Healthcare Setting: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain & Stroke Center/n - Unit: Med/Surg/Telemetry – 8 Reynolds (29 beds)/n - Contract Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/22/2025)/n - Shift: 12-hour night shifts (start time: 6:30 PM)/n - Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680/n - Scrub Color: Royal Blue/n - Free Employee Parking/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state/n - BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required/n - Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg/Telemetry nursing experience/n - Strong Med/Surg/Tele background (first-time travel nurses with robust experience welcome)/n - Proficient in reading telemetry strips/n - Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, PIV starts, drains & tubes, PCA pumps, and gtts management (Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Heparin)/n - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills/n - Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical setting/n /n/nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide direct and indirect patient care to a diverse Med/Surg/Telemetry population (including diabetes, GI, respiratory, renal, wounds, chest tubes, tracheostomies)/n - Manage patient assignments with an RN ratio of 1:5-6/n - Perform lab draws, wound care, and dressing changes/n - Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for patient safety/n - Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, and the rapid response team/n - Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems/n - Participate in facility and departmental orientation (NEO plus 2 days unit orientation)/n - Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented, and highly reliable healthcare culture/n /n Apply now to join our healthcare team and discover rewarding nursing jobs in Winston Salem, North Carolina!
