2/16/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with
Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Charlotte,
North Carolina, 28215! Labor and Delivery Nurse Registered Nurse
Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift:
12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License:
Compact license required. Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN
Intermediate required; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced preferred.
Must-Have: Must have labor and delivery experience. Experience in
couplet care is also required. Ability to circulate in the OR for
C-section deliveries and recover patients in PACU. Experience in
mother/baby care required. Description: RTO after booking is not
allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could lead to
possible cancellation. This is a low-risk labor and delivery unit
that accepts any pregnant patients needing care. If a patient is
too high-risk, they will be transferred out or stabilized and then
transferred. Nurses will handle either labor patients or couplets.
The nurse's skill set must include both labor and delivery as well
as mother/baby care. Nurses will need to assist with high-risk
deliveries and vaginal deliveries, as well as take part in
circulating for C-sections. Daily tasks will include assisting with
sterile speculum exams, NST, and other antepartum procedures. Fetal
monitoring skills are required, with experience in the use of
external and internal monitoring. Experience administering IV
therapy and medications such as anticoagulants and magnesium
sulfate is necessary. Pain management skills in epidural and
general anesthesia are also needed. Postpartum care
responsibilities will encompass support for breastfeeding, wound
assessment, and postpartum procedures. The nurse will support
patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage or pregnancy-induced
hypertension. This position entails working with neonates,
conducting newborn assessments, and providing discharge teaching to
parents. The target ratios are 1:1-2 for labor and delivery and 1:3
for couplet care. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 8
shifts per contract. Nurses may occasionally float to other units
based on the needs of the facility. Flexibility in scheduling is a
must, as fatigue policies prevent working more than five
consecutive days. Candidates must be comfortable floating within
the facility with no restrictions or special requests. Additional
responsibilities may include managing isolation precautions and
PPE. Clinical documentation experience is highly preferred.
