ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM • Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block • Must work one holiday per 13-week contract • Patient ratio typically 1:5 • 24 hours of orientation provided • EPIC charting system experience required • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Ventilator experience required for chronic trach and vent patients • Must have experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care • Administer medications including cardiac drips (no titration) • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management • Handle Rapid Response and Code team activation • Maintain isolation precautions and telemetry settings • Care for patients with DKA, COPD, Sepsis, Suicide/Overdose, chronic respiratory failure, and renal failure • Work in hybrid unit with 10 PCU beds and 2 ICU beds • Floating required within skillset • May work without CNA support • 1 year of experience required • Previous charge experience preferred Facility: This large acute care facility features over 700 licensed beds and holds prestigious designations as a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-recognized hospital.
