Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. An opportunity is available for a skilled surgical professional specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures within an operating room setting. This contract position is based in Radford, VA, offering a dynamic work environment with advanced surgical cases including craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple procedures, and MAKO total joint replacements. Responsibilities: Assist as a licensed First Assistant during surgical procedures, demonstrating proficiency in orthopedic techniques, da Vinci robotic systems, and neuro surgeries Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain patient safety and procedural efficiency Utilize OR-specific equipment and documentation systems to ensure compliance with medical standards Participate in rotating call schedules for weeknights and weekends on 10-hour shifts Adhere to unit policies, dress codes, and maintain professional documentation through Meditech Desired Experience and Qualifications: Licensed First Assistant credential with Board of Medicine approval in Virginia Proven proficiency in orthopedic, da Vinci robotic-assisted, and neuro-surgical procedures Experience with complex surgeries including trauma cases and advanced surgical interventions Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with 1:1 patient ratios and consistent scrub tech support Strong knowledge of operating room protocols and surgical equipment Location Overview: Radford, VA, offers a welcoming community with a balanced lifestyle combining small-town charm and access to metropolitan amenities.
