Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Winston Salem, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, CVICU preferred License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General nursing skills - ICU skills - Experience with heavy cardiac patient populations - Swanz and Impella experience Description: New unit opening in early 2026. Initially opening as high acuity PCU and transitioning to ICU by the end of 2026. Unit will have 10-12 beds. Patient population includes heavy cardiac cases such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, tamponade, shock, STEMI/NSTEMI, and post-cardiac procedures. Patient ratios will initially be 1:3-4 and will adjust to 1:2-3 after transitioning to ICU. Experience with wound care and dressing changes is required, as there will be several post-surgical patients. Responsibilities will include defibrillation, EKG interpretation, post-arrest management, cardioversions, managing sheaths, and various airway and IV interventions. Travelers will care for fresh open heart patients once transitioned to ICU. Highly preferred experience includes LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients; training will be provided. No ECMO experience is required, but IABPs will be accepted after transition to ICU. Support within the department includes a CNA and resource nurse charge RN. A manager will be present during the day, with additional support from hospitalists, intensivists, and resident physicians. Remote Tele Techs will assist with immediate issues, and monitors will be in every room. Staff will have a self-scheduling system, and there will be a weekend rotation requirement. Holidays will be covered by 50% of contracted staff. Scrub color required is royal blue. Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS BLS Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam
