Job Details - Location: Hickory, NC 28602 — North Carolina nursing jobs / travel nurse opportunity - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,570–$1,650 per week - Assignment Length: 13 weeks - Start Date: March 23, 2026 - End Date: June 22, 2026 - Shift: Night shift — 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), flexible to 4x12s if available - Hours per Week: 36 (option to flex to 48) - Unit: Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric Combined) — Emergency Department RN / ER nurse role - Patient Ratio: 4:1 - EMR: Meditech (experience preferred, not required) Job Requirements - Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required; 3 years preferred (ER nurse / emergency nursing) - Previous travel nursing experience required - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state - BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association) required - CPI/CIC certification preferred (can be obtained onsite for contracts longer than 3 months) - COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care for adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department - Perform triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization for a wide range of acute and emergent conditions - Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and manage IV vasopressors - Initiate and maintain IV access, perform phlebotomy, and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols - Provide critical decision-making, prioritize care in high-acuity situations, and escalate concerns appropriately - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and case management - Accurately document patient care and clinical updates in the Meditech EMR system - Work scheduled weekends and holidays as required (minimum every other weekend) This travel nursing role is ideal for experienced ER RNs seeking a Night Shift travel nurse assignment in Hickory, NC.
