About the Position Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: RN
Specialty: Therapeutic Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days
Hours per Shift: 40.00 Experience: One year of nursing experience
required. Preferred infusion experience and/or phlebotomy and IV
skills. License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in
North Carolina. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for
Healthcare Provider certification required. Must-Have: EPIC
experience, skills in IV pumping programming, and basic vital signs
equipment. Description: Responsible for providing competent
clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
Reports and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director.
Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process
in a hospital setting. Education: Participates in identifying and
meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on
identified learning needs. Uses patient education materials
relevant to the patient population with assistance. Assesses
readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers.
Evaluates developmental levels of patients and factors affecting
the ability to learn. Evaluation of Care: Identifies expected
patient outcomes. Seeks guidance as needed in revising the plan of
care. Participates in discussions with the interdisciplinary team
in evaluating patient care. Communicates relevant information to
promote continuity of care. Implementation: Demonstrates competence
in the care of patients with complex problems. Performs bedside
point of care testing as required for the patient care plan.
Utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies,
and procedures in the delivery of care. Organizes and prioritizes
care according to patient and family needs. Consults with
appropriate resources timely regarding patients with complex care
issues. Leadership: Develops goals with assistance to promote
professional growth or minimize limitations. Achieves goals and
objectives within identified time frames or renegotiates with
supervisors. Is knowledgeable about activities that facilitate
intra- and interdepartmental collaboration. Participates in the
development and achievement of unit goals and performance
improvement activities. Patient Assessment: Recognizes data from
complex situations to determine priorities for care. Includes
appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
Synthesizes assessment data into meaningful information prior to
communication to others. Assesses and anticipates discharge needs
of individual patients and families. Develops relationships with
families that promote advocacy for patient needs. Planning:
Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update the
plan of care. Utilizes available multidisciplinary resources in
planning care. Begins to use full ranges of communication to convey
planning. Identifies and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in
planning patient care. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks
for patients with complex problems. Research: Reads journals that
contain studies or articles that may be applicable to practice.
Brings ideas and questions to the staff at large for assessment of
