Job Description:
Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an
orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the
Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum
of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health
services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are
trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the
intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and
their families, both virtually and in person. Our values are
Excellence, Innovation, Commitment, Caring and Integrity. What will
you do as an FCT Practitioner? As an FCT Practitioner in the
Family-Centered Treatment (FCT) department, you will work with
children and teens who have acute mental health or behavioral
challenges. A typical day as an FCT Practitioner will include
meetings with families, discussing cases with residential FCT
practitioners, and completing documentation. There is an on-call
rotation for after-hours, weekends, and holidays. There will be a
virtual team meeting on Monday afternoon and one hour of virtual
individual supervision during the week. A one-hour skills lab
occurs virtually on Fridays. Otherwise, you create your schedule
based on the family’s availability. Most families prefer afternoon
and evening appointments, as that is when children are out of
school. As the community-based practitioner, you will need to be
