Portfolio Senior Manager & PMO Lead, reporting to the Senior
Director of Global Business Services (GBS), is a senior,
enterprise-facing leadership role responsible for shaping and
operationalizing portfolio strategy, governance, and execution
standards for the Global Business Services (GBS) transformation
portfolio at Dentsply Sirona. This role acts as a recognized expert
and trusted advisor to GBS and enterprise leadership, anticipating
business challenges, informing portfolio strategy, and driving
complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives with material
enterprise impact. The Portfolio Senior Manager operates with
significant independence and senior-level judgment within a defined
strategic framework, leads through influence rather than authority,
and plays a critical role in advancing the maturity, credibility,
and strategic impact of the GBS operating model globally. Key
Responsibilities 1. Portfolio Governance & Strategic Alignment •
Lead the end-to-end governance and execution of the GBS
transformation portfolio, ensuring alignment with the GBS vision,
enterprise priorities, and S/4HANA roadmap. • Define, implement,
and continuously evolve portfolio governance frameworks and
execution standards, including intake, prioritization, business
case review, and steering routines, in alignment with GBS
leadership direction. • Maintain enterprise-level visibility into
portfolio health, including timelines, interdependencies, risks,
and financial and operational impacts. • Anticipate portfolio-level
challenges and dependencies, translating them into data-driven
insights and recommendations for GBS leadership. • Develop and
enhance PMO standards, methodologies, tools, and templates to
strengthen delivery discipline and consistency across GBS. 2.
Program & Project Oversight • Oversee complex, cross-functional
programs and initiatives spanning Finance, Procurement, Customer
Service, HR, Operations, and IT. • Provide senior-level guidance,
problem-solving, and escalation support to program and project
managers, particularly for complex or high-risk initiatives. •
Partner with Global Process Owners (GPOs) on stabilization,
transition readiness, operating model refinement, and continuous
improvement initiatives. • Ensure project charters, KPIs, benefits,
and success criteria are clearly defined, measurable, and
consistently applied. • Provide hands-on project management support
as needed during critical phases or escalations. 3. Executive
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement • Serve as a key advisor to the
Senior Director, GBS and the GBS Leadership Team, providing
portfolio-level insight, analysis, and recommendations. • Prepare
executive dashboards, leadership presentations, and portfolio
updates with a focus on clarity, outcomes, and decision-relevant
information. • Drive alignment and transparency across global and
regional stakeholders, navigating competing priorities in a
matrixed environment. • Influence outcomes through expertise,
credibility, and structured communication rather than formal
authority. 4. Resource & Capacity Management • Maintain visibility
into portfolio-level resource demand, capacity constraints, and
prioritization needs across regions and functional towers. •
Partner with functional leaders to support informed resourcing and
sequencing decisions. • Provide recommendations to GBS leadership
on staffing approaches, sequencing adjustments, or sourcing model
considerations to manage risk and accelerate delivery. 5. Value
Realization & Benefits Tracking • Lead the development and
execution of the GBS benefits realization framework, ensuring
consistent tracking of financial and operational outcomes. •
Validate and monitor savings, productivity improvements, service
enhancements, and risk reduction in partnership with Finance. •
Partner with Finance to ensure benefits are integrated into budgets
and forecast cycles. 6. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management •
Identify portfolio-level risks, root causes, and cross-functional
impacts. • Develop mitigation strategies and surface critical risks
to leadership in a timely manner. • Set expectations for escalation
discipline and governance rigor across the portfolio. 7. PMO
Maturity & Capability Development • Lead efforts to mature the GBS
PMO function, advancing consistency, capability, and effectiveness
across regions and towers. • Coach and mentor program managers,
project managers, and workstream leads to strengthen delivery
capability and judgment. • Embed continuous improvement practices
(Lean, root cause analysis, Kaizen) into portfolio and project
execution. • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and
operational excellence across the GBS organization. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
(Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field).
Years and Type of Experience: • 10 years of experience in portfolio
management, PMO leadership, shared services, or business
transformation roles. • Experience supporting GBS or enterprise
transformation, ideally within a global, matrixed environment. •
Strong understanding of project and change-management methodologies
(PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma). • Experience working
alongside or supporting SAP S/4HANA, ERP transformations, or
process redesign initiatives preferred. • Proven ability to
influence senior leadership and drive alignment across diverse
stakeholder groups. • Strong analytical skills with experience in
portfolio tools (Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project, JIRA). Key
Skills, Knowledge & Capabilities: • Strategic and critical thinking
• Executive presence and communication • Cross-functional influence
and relationship building • Structured problem-solving and decision
making • High attention to detail with ability to simplify complex
information • Comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities •
Ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution •
