Job Description:
Description Due to the nature of the work performed, candidates
must be a US person as defined by US export control regulations and
eligible to access controlled unclassified information (CUI). The
Pay, Perks, and Benefits Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience and determined based on market
benchmarks and internal equity. Retirement benefits are provided
through the Virginia Retirement System with employer match.

Will Help the Team The NAVSEA Additive Manufacturing Instructor is
a key contributor to an accelerated training program designed to
rapidly upskill Department of War personnel in advanced
manufacturing. This role delivers high quality technical
instruction, shapes curriculum content, and mentors adult learners
in both additive manufacturing and CNC machining. The instructor
ensures students gain practical, job ready skills aligned with DoW
standards and best practices. What You Will Do The instructor
delivers classroom and hands on instruction in additive
manufacturing and CNC machining and manages and engages a diverse
group of adult learners in a technical training environment.
Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and continuously
improving curriculum, projects, and instructional materials. The
role requires maintaining current knowledge of DoW additive
manufacturing processes and requirements and providing subject
matter expertise in additive manufacturing, CNC setup, programming,
and operation. Additional responsibilities include overseeing lab
space, equipment use, and safety compliance, advising and mentoring
students throughout the training program, managing student records
and instructional administrative tasks, and handling sensitive
information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications Your Knowledge and Expertise DoW manufacturing
experience is preferred. A technical degree in manufacturing or
equivalent occupational experience is required. Extensive
experience with CAD and CAM software is required, with Mastercam
preferred. Extensive experience in CNC setup, programming, and
operation is required, with Haas experience preferred. Experience
in metal additive manufacturing processes is required, with Meltio
Laser DED and post processing experience preferred. Experience with
polymer additive manufacturing processes is required. Knowledge of
design for additive manufacturing is required. Extensive experience
with slicing software is required, with Eiger preferred.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools and quality control best
practices is required. Strong blueprint interpretation skills,
including GD and T, are required. Demonstrated experience training
or instructing adult learners is required. Strong written and
verbal communication skills are required. Experience developing
standard operating procedures and work instructions is required. A
creative and solution-oriented mindset is required. Commitment to
instructional quality and academic integrity is required. Ability
to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student
population is required. The position requires the ability to lift
up to 50 pounds, use basic hand tools, move frequently throughout a
training lab environment, and use stepladders. What Makes Working
