JOB SUMMARY: This outside sales position is responsible for successfully managing all elements of their assigned territory to meet/exceed territory goals, partner with customers to help grow their business and increase market penetration. This role is responsible for growing the territory through new business and existing customer growth plans. JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet and exceed goals for their assigned territory. * Aggressively develops new business through the CSMI sales process. * Surveys prospects to understand value of CSMI partnership. * Maintains an understanding of the metal building industry, relative products, competitors, new developments, and pricing structures. * Performs ongoing market analysis of the competition, their offerings, and market penetration. * Understands the market position of competition and CSMI value against those competitors. * Understands the product offering and specifications of competition compared to CSMI products. * Understands barriers for growth in territory and proposes corrective actions to address the barriers. * Assists in account receivable resolutions as needed. * Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. * Identifies opportunities for existing customer growth, works with customer to develop plan, and implements plan. * Trains customers on product specifications, marketing materials, online tools, sales techniques, and product installation. * Maintains relationships with key decision makers to understand customer's business strategies and how CSMI can help. * Maintains an in-person presence in the market, visiting customers, prospects, competition, and jobsites. * Utilizes independent authority to change or accommodate the following as appropriate to accommodate customer and business needs: Customer Pricing, Freight Charges, Product Packaging Requirements, and Special Delivery Requirements. * Uses data and analytics to drive decision making. * Considers the market conditions of their territory, customer needs, company objectives, and their territory goals in their daily decision making and applies sound judgment in their relative decision making. * Assists in warranty claim investigation as needed. * Ensures that customers are stocked with the appropriate marketing materials. * Gathers marketing intelligence for the territory, including pricing, delivery, and product specification. * Assists in price changing decisions in territory. * Sets up pricing for new customers. * Understands market pricing for distributors, contractors, and end users for our products and works with customers to ensure they are priced competitively in their market. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in relative field preferred or equivalent job experience. * Minimum of one year of proven field sales success in meeting and/or exceeding sales quotas. * Approximately 70%-80% travel required. * Has an understanding of the metal building business Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel analytics, and CRMs. * This is a safety sensitive position * Consistently exhibits and displays the company's values of "Own It.
