Summary DescriptionThe Fleet Maintenance Manager provides leadership and management of the fleet maintenance department to ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with company and DOT requirements. Responsible for the management of fleet equipment at multiple locations and managing teams responsible for inventory management and all fleet maintenance functions ensuring that all work is completed in a safe and timely manner reducing lost productivity within the shop and achieving financial success by meeting budgetary guidelines.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of maintenance personnel assigned to the Kernersville shop in the routine and preventive needs of company owned and leased equipment in accordance with company and DOT requirements for all locations.
  • Compliance in the Kernersville Shop of all fleet equipment to meet company safety compliance, DOT, OSHA, EPA and any other government regulatory agencies, including any required reporting and paperwork.
  • Minimizes organizational cost through standardization and tracking of completed services
  • Oversight of equipment files, records, licenses, inspections, warranties and service agreements for the organization's transportation related equipment and tools per company and DOT regulations.
  • Manages and utilizes company maintenance software
  • Assist Human Resources in the hiring of maintenance employees assigned to the Kernersville shop and provide training to new and existing employees.
  • Responsible for performance appraisals and disciplinary action with employees in accordance with company policy and procedures.

    Educational / Experience Requirements
    • Minimum of five years' experience in a management role or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of five years' experience with diesel truck maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must have thorough knowledge and experience with DOT and OSHA regulations and reporting requirements.Critical Success Factors (Indicate essential skills and behaviors a person must regularly demonstrate critical for job success)

      • Interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate effective relationships
      • Able to develop and foster a team environment

      • Computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite
      • Mechanical aptitude
      • Thorough understanding of DOT and OSHA regulationsFiscal Responsibility (Indicate budget responsibilities, approval privileges on purchase orders, check requesting reporting and auditing functions)BC/BD maintenance costs
