Job Description:
Aon Is Looking For A Travel Procurement Analyst - Data and
Analytics The Data Analyst ensures the reliability and scalability
of Aon's Global Travel data and analytics and provides insightful
analysis to support strategic decision making as part of our Global
Spend Management team in Chicago IL. This role works closely with
Aon's global travel team to define and document requirements,
develop reporting, analyses business processes and systems, and
support projects aligned to the global travel strategy to drive
insights. Job Responsibilities: Gather and document requirements,
interpret data and analyze results as per global travel needs
(including but not limited to the categories of air, hotel, car
rental, travel management company (TMC), online booking tools
(OBTs) to deliver actionable results across regions and solution
lines Comprehensive analysis to optimize global travel program
across all types of travel management topics including policy,
compliance, preferencing, strategy, sourcing, acquisitions,
divestitures and more Develop reports and analytical dashboards to
enable data-informed insights to further enhance colleague
experiences and monitor performance across the global travel and
meetings program Skilled at constructing analytical frameworks to
measure, benchmark, and make recommendations for global travel and
meetings program advancement Collaborate with stakeholders and
suppliers to estimate savings opportunities, measure contract
performance, and institute benchmarks Supporting the data
engineering team in identifying data requirements and issues across
global travel and meeting Partner with internal stakeholders to
align with wider business goals supporting decision reporting
requirements Train end users on dashboards and reports to drive
adoption and increase data IQ Research, recommend and implement
system enhancements leveraging data and analytics Assess current
processes and provide recommendations to drive efficiency and
standardization across the global travel and meeting processes
Function effectively as part of a team by sharing knowledge,
providing direction, work distribution and assisting others in the
group Assist with other travel-related projects as-needed You Bring
Knowledge and Expertise BA/BS undergraduate degree required Deep
knowledge of Microsoft Office, with expert knowledge of Excel, and
PowerPoint Familiarity with travel industry Experience working
within a procurement or category management department Comfortable
working with large data sets, creating data model Advanced critical
thinking, analytical and quantitative skills Demonstrated
initiative for process improvements Excellent communication
(written and oral) and interpersonal skills Strong
relationship-building skills and able to communicate complex ideas
Ability to translate business requirement into technical
requirement Share insights and make business recommendations (e.g.,
cost-benefit, forecasting, experiment analysis) with effective
presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders
through visual displays of quantitative information Proven track
record of delivering data-driven analytics to guide global travel
and meetings strategy, development, and execution High bandwidth
and multi-tasking skills - easily able to handle competing
priorities, remain flexible and derive creative solutions under
pressure Experience in customer focused environment Experience
working with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
preferred Working SQL knowledge (query authoring) and experience
