Maintenance Technician for our Chilhowie, Virginia facility!
Maintenance Technicians support day-to-day operations of all
machines, equipment, and areas of the facility. They also perform
preventive maintenance, provide technical assistance for solving
reliability issues, assist with production equipment upgrades and
rebuilds, and fabricate, modify, assemble and repair a variety of
production components/assemblies/systems utilizing various
machining and metal fabricating equipment and tools.Key Duties and
ResponsibilitiesEnsures strict conformance to all applicable
electrical codes & OSHA safety requirements for facility and
production equipment, as well as Scholle IPN safety
guidelinesProvides mechanical and electrical skills in support of
routine & preventive maintenanceSupports the shift maintenance team
in problem-solving & troubleshooting effortsActs as a problem
solving & continuous improvement resource for PLC programming,
variable speed drives, electrical & pneumatic controls, mechanical
systems, etc.Troubleshoots & repairs production machine equipment
and systemsProvides input to preventive & predictive maintenance
efforts to improve overall equipment reliabilityEffectively
maintains maintenance laptop programs & filesDemonstrated ability
to maintain Cognex vision systemEffectively make electrical
connections for most electrical devicesSuccessfully transfers
electronic files from laptop to motor drives, Fanuc robotics, PLC,
and/or HMIEffectively troubleshoot industrial equipment utilizing
laptop viewing PLC ladder logicCapable of interpreting electrical,
pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical schematics for
troubleshootingEffectively troubleshoot all industrial systems,
such as electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanicalEffectively
utilizes electronic test equipment in troubleshooting, such as a
Multimeter, Oscilloscope, megger, circuit tracer, etc.Provides
support for departmental standards for sanitation &
housekeepingSupports the introduction of new technologyDisplays
strong teamwork & communication skills with a hands-on, positive
styleContributes ideas & support to capital planning, lean
manufacturing, & continuous improvement initiativesResponsible for
reporting food/product safety problems or risks to a supervisor or
manager immediately, or act if possibleOther duties as
assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED, AAS in
Electronics or equivalent preferredCertificate in Industrial
Maintenance or Military equivalentBroad experience with most or all
of the following required: electrical & mechanical systems, PLCs,
pneumatic conveying systems & controls, HVAC, air compressors,
profile extrusion, assembly equipment, film unwinds, & injection
moldingFive (5) years of Industrial Maintenance experience
preferredAAS in Electronics or equivalent preferred.PLC programming
experience is a plus.Experience with a computerized Maintenance
Management system, such as MP2, would be beneficialAbility to work
all shifts and perform overtimePrevious experience as a maintenance
technician preferredAbility to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure
manuals, and PowerPoint presentations. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before
groups of customers or employees of the organizationAbility to add,
subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measures, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate,
ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate
mean, median, and mode, and apply SPC to the quality
processesAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situationsBasic skill
knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and
Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activitiesAbility to
perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply
technical material including print specificationsAbility to solve
problems by identifying root causes and developing alternative
